Hello all,
I am emailing from the UK - I have been lurking for the past weeks and really enjoying seeing all of you say hi and detail what you are interested in / busy doing at the moment.
I am interested in open design practices and how sharing work via creative commons licenses or similar is becoming more popular, what people are doing and why, etc.
I just checked out the etherpad that Juha put up [ http://okfestival.okfnpad.org/helsinki? ] and really liking the Open Design topic section. I originally thought that #okfn may be focussing on open data and not so much design, but now I know otherwise!
I would love to come and be part of the #okfn Open Knowledge Open Design part of the festival - especially to discuss all these things mentioned about open design, business models, reasons, a definition, 'legalities / rules'.. everything.
I would also be interested in hosting a breakout session / discussion / show of a shared laser cut design project I am running, based around a shared design from a company in Rotterdam - SNIJlab. I am rather excited about these topics and speaking to other people about these things. http://sniject.wikispaces.com/
Oh, and if I could help out with #okfest in any way, perhaps volunteering, behind the scenes helping or similar, I would be keen to do that too.
Cheers
Stuart
