as suggested previously by others on this list, I too think that as long
as members and groups share FC-UK purpose and contribute to its
activities as defined in the constitution, anything from arts to
journalism to thinktanks to free hardware and so on would do.

The principle of "not-working-against" should give the maximum freedom,
and opportunity for serendipitous encounters.

RIAA, MPAA, BSA and company would probably not qualify...

Thanks Tim, your list is very comprehensive; for a group to do all this
would be very ambitious, and on the other hand there are many more
possibilities - so it's a good starting point for a pool of practical
examples which could be useful to people and groups approaching free
culture either with projects already running or with ideas and resources
for new projects.
