I have been discussing with Rufus what I have been up to developing a
new version of codenode, and he thinks there are similarities with
what you guys are thinking about with CKAN.
Before you go any further, you should probably look at the attached
screen shot which will give you a flavour. Codenode attempts to
create programming notebooks made up of a list of cells. Each cell as
input that can be evaluated which is then placed underneath the input.
At the moment, you can use text cells evaluated in the browser and
python cells evaluated on a server.
I have simplified the original codenode in a few ways that are
probably not that interesting to you, but the main work on this
editor). I would be intersted to hear what you think on that front at
the very least.

It is very alpha, with no setup.py. Check the README, but you should
be able to install a few packages to get it to work.
